October's "Five Things" true minimalism- I have an obvious love for minimal design and clean, simple lines. On that front, FrédéricForest certainly delivers with his line drawings. Check out his work-@fredericforest. The simplest of line-making alludes to the female form and delicate hands, so many hands. The perfect makings of a future tattoo... on repeat- I've been madly in love with Jade Castrinos since her Edward Sharpe days and I'm over the moon that this chick has started creating new music on her own. When I Saw You was first performed last year and is the PERFECT song...it was actually our first dance song at my recent wedding and it obvi makes me tear up now. déjà "parenthood"- The Netflix original Atypical is this month's binge-worthy rec. If you loved Parenthood, you might be a fan of this new series too. The character of Max Braverman was critical to the show and Atypical's Sam Gardner sort of feels like he's picking up where Parenthood left off with Max. Sam is a teen on the autism spectrum who like Max, is brilliantly passionate and unintentionally funny. book club- It's more a 12-week group for creatives than a book club but I recently joined a few lovely people while we read and learn new techniques from The Artist's Way. If you're not familiar with the book, it's sort of a self-help book for creatives where you learn various exercises to build your creative skills, unblock, and boost your confidence. I'll report back in a few weeks! explore denver- If you're in the Denver area and haven't checked out all the goings-on at The Stanley Marketplace lately, I'd recommend a visit! There are so many new restaurants and boutiques popping up at the old aviation building in Aurora/Stapleton. It's worth checking out!
