May, June, and July in Review
It’s AUGUST right now! I’m not sure how it happened. I’m not sure if the beginning half of the year even existed…did it? I can’t remember and I hardly know what day it is but alas, I’m looking at the calendar and it’s officially August.
Let’s start where we left off, shall we? May was full of projects, both personal and business. I spent a lot of the month working on the Home Collection launch and getting all the new pieces just right- making and sampling and adjusting before sharing it all with you. On the personal project front, my husband and I finally finished a cabinet remodel that had been on the back-burner for quite some time (I think we started it exactly a year before finishing it…there were many projects completed in between) and I was finding myself in need of some changes around the house, a few new things and lots of rearranging were the answer. I squeezed in some live music action in May too, with some jazz festivals and a very cold-and-wet-but-amazing-none-the-less Florence and the Machine show at Red Rocks.
June was launch month for the Home Collection so it was crunch time but I still made sure to take some time for more catching up with friends, learning and taking webinars, doing a little baking and food photography, plant shopping, reading, and garden-tending. The new pieces launched mid-month and I have been loving all the feedback and love for this launch. It’s been one of the best and I’m so thrilled you love it just as much as I do.
And onto July! Chris and I started the month off with a gorgeous trip to Palisades and Grand Mesa for some lavender-picking and camping over July 4th. It was a short trip but so worth it. I highly recommend visiting Sage Creations Organic Farm in their summer months. It was so calm and quiet with stunning fields of delicious-smelling lavender and views of the mesa. I sped through a ton of good books and while I’m just barely over half my goal (50 books for the year!) I’m just enjoying that I’m taking more time to relax an read at the end of the day. One of my favorites for the year is hands down Where the Crawdads Sing. It is BEAUTIFUL. The writing just made me want to totally savor this book (you know when something’s so good you want to read it as slowly as possible and take in every word but also you’re dying to know what comes next??? That’s this novel.) and I swear I was having a full-on relationship with every page. To think it was Delia Owens’ debut novel is mind-blowing to me. A few other reads for the month of July were Daisy Jones & The Six and The Learning Curve from Mandy Berman.
July was also a big month for a few other reasons including this one- we bought our home! We officially closed on our house and the months ahead will be full of more projects, home-improvements, and remodels galore. That’s if for now, check out the 1 Second Everyday video below. Cheers!
