My Top 5 Podcast Picks for Creative Entrepreneurs (And Everyone Else)

I listen to podcasts nearly all day every day. From comedy to politics to life and business advice to classic story telling, there's just so much to learn and explore. As a small business owner and "creativepreneur," my most listened-to category is of course creative business podcasts. My favs are chock full of awesome conversations with business owners from all different spaces. Podcasts being such a major part of my work day inspired me to compile a list of my top 5 picks for creative entrepreneurs (and really everyone). Hopefully you discover something that inspires and motivates you to do your best work!

Cathy Heller knows what it is to hustle. She is the queen of looking at an end goal and reverse-engineering the heck out of it to get to where she ultimately wants to be. Cathy started out writing music and trying to get a record deal as a singer-songwriter before realizing that it wasn't quite for her and that the real dream was to make a living licensing her music. In addition to writing and licensing her music, she now teaches others to do just that. She also launched her own licensing company and hosts Don't Keep Your Day Job. Cathy clearly has a passion for what she does and perhaps just as strong of a passion for helping others do what they love every day. A quote that I love- "purpose is the opposite of depression." Man, that so resonates with me.

Goal Digger is just that, a podcast to encourage and empower you to conquer those massive goals of yours. Jenna Kutcher is just such an incredible boss babe and inspiration to so many creative men and women. In the podcast, Jenna shares awesome life and business tips of her own and hosts incredible interviews with extremely impressive business owners. Seriously, this one makes you feel like you need to be taking notes. "Dig in, do the work, and tackle your biggest goals along the way."

Podcast gold right here. I mean, who doesn't love How I Built This? First of all, I'm in love with Guy Raz (and let's be real, all NPR hosts). Second of all, listening to this pod is the biggest motivator ever. Guy interviews some serious ICONS in so many industries- Kate and Andy Spade of Kate Spade, Sara Blakely of Spanx, Beto Perez & Alberto Perlman of Zumba, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry's, and even Kevin Systrom & Mike Krieger of Instagram. When you hear people tell you that everyone starts from zero when launching a business you sort of roll your eyes and find yourself thinking "well, I can hardly picture Howard Schultz struggling like this at literally ANY POINT." This is THE PLACE to go to hear those stories and pull yourself out of the depths of impostor phenomenon. "HIBT weaves a narrative journey about innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists—and the movements they built." Like I said, podcast gold.

Marie Forleo is a well-known entrepreneur, writer, and the host of MarieTV, an online weekly show to "help you create a business and life you love." The Marie Forleo Podcast is the podcast version of MarieTV...just in case you don't have the time to sit down and watch their awesome, actionable idea-filled content. If you're looking to make big changes in your business and your life, this one's for you.

The Real Female Entrepreneur feels like a 3x a week support group for the lonely work-from-home lady boss. There are some phenomenal guests who have the most genuine and honest conversations about some incredibly important topics that we simply don't talk about enough. Host, Lauren Frontiera, focuses on bringing you real women and real conversations. "(TRFE is) a space where incredible women, at all stages of entrepreneurship, could come to pull back the curtains, wash off the "business owner" mask, and get real."
